News March 22, 2021

Oldham Athletic welcome Exeter City to Boundary Park tomorrow night as they go head to head in League Two action.

Written by Tom Pearce, Oldham Picks Predictor (@tompearce97)

This will be the 33rd meeting between the two sides, the first coming in 1937 in the FA Cup in which Exeter came out 3-0 winners.

The Latics won the reverse fixture 2-1, but how will tomorrow’s game play out?

Oldham Athletic Team News & Injuries:

The Latics’ players came through the weekends game unscathed with Keith Curle making just two subs, showing that he wants to keep a settled side.

If there is a change that he might make, it would be Dylan Bahamboula coming in to replace Marcel Hilßner in the starting XI.

Exeter City Team News & Injuries:

There could be a couple of changes to Exeter’s starting line-up tomorrow night, with Jack Sparkles looking to return to the left midfield to replace Joel Randall after he was stretchered off on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Jake Caprice could potentially come in for Joshua Key or Robbie Willmott on the right hand side.

Oldham Athletic Form:

The Latics drew their second game on the bounce at the weekend as they drew 0-0 away to Bradford City.

It was a hard fought stalemate from Curle’s side in the fourth meeting between the two sides this season.

Oldham are struggling to pick up wins as they sit 23rd in the form table, after four draws and two losses, from their last six games.

Exeter City form:

The Grecians lost in a big game in regards with the play-offs as Tranmere Rovers defeated them 2-1 at Prenton Park.

They currently find themselves in 14th place in the form table, winning two, drawing one and losing three of their last six games.

Their away form is pretty inconsistent as well, failing to get back to back results on the road since December.

The Latics haven’t scored as many goals in the first period compared to the second when playing at Boundary Park.

The thing is, Exeter have kept a clean sheet in the first 45 minutes in just 41% of their away games this season.

2. Will Oldham score in the second half? No

Whilst Oldham have scored more goals in the closing 45 minutes, they have scored in both halves in just 28% of their home games this campaign.
